How it works

Three small loops, one honest picture of your day.

1 · Intend

Write what matters today

Capture is one tap: type right on the page, and a small bar above the keyboard sets the Space or day while you type. Your day stays a short list of free-form lines. It's a daily intentions list, not a backlog. Each morning, yesterday's unfinished lines ask one question: carry, or let go? Nothing piles up silently.

2 · Sit with it

Focus, with gentle check-ins

Swipe an intention to begin a focus session. Every so often Calibrate asks how the last stretch really went (Present, Wandered, or Away) and what pulled you. Answering takes one tap, right from your Lock Screen or the Dynamic Island, and you're back to work. Breaks are part of the plan, and Calibrate calls you back when yours ends.

3 · Notice

Hear the quiet patterns

Over your last seven sessions, Calibrate notices what keeps pulling you and says one true sentence about it, before you start and after you finish. "Phone stayed quieter today." At the end of the week, the Recap tab mirrors it all back and asks what you want to carry into the next one.

Habits · Optional

A habit tracker where partial counts.

Habits in Calibrate are opt-in. Add them if you want them; Today stays clean if you don't. Each one is marked with a hand-drawn scribble, and the vocabulary is honest: done, partial, or skipped. Ten minutes of a thirty-minute stretch still gets its mark, half-filled.

Today carries just today's marks; each habit's rhythm lives in its monthly view. Missed a day? Tap it there and mark it late. Showing up yesterday still counts today. The monthly board in Calendar shows the texture of a real month, not a chain you're afraid to break.

Why I built this

Every focus app I tried turned my attention into a scoreboard. Streaks I was afraid to break. Graphs that told me I was behind. The tool that was supposed to calm my work became one more thing keeping score of me.

Calibrate is my answer: an app that asks how the last stretch actually went, says one true sentence about what it notices, and otherwise stays out of the way. Drifting isn't failure, it's information. Catching yourself is the real skill.

Frequently asked

Things people ask.

Is Calibrate a pomodoro timer?

No. It's a mindful alternative to the Pomodoro technique. You choose your own check-in rhythm, and instead of a bell cutting your block short, Calibrate asks how the time actually went. Learn more →

How does Calibrate track distractions?

You tell it, in one tap: phone, noise, thoughts, or your own words. Over your last seven sessions it notices your most common pull and suggests one small change. No surveillance, no screen monitoring. Learn more →

Is Calibrate good for ADHD?

Calibrate avoids the mechanics that tend to backfire for ADHD brains: streaks to break, scores to fall behind on. When your attention drifts, the app records what pulled you without judgment and moves on. Learn more →

Can Calibrate help me start a task I keep putting off?

Yes. Tap the to-do that's been waiting and choose Just start · 3 minutes. The sitting begins right there, and at three minutes Calibrate asks on your Lock Screen: keep going, or stop here? Both answers count. Stopping is a completed session, not a failure. Learn more →

What is a daily intentions app?

A short list of what matters today, written fresh each morning. Not a backlog. In Calibrate, yesterday's unfinished lines ask to be carried or let go, one decision at a time. Learn more →

How is this different from Screen Time?

Screen Time measures how long you were on your phone. Calibrate helps you notice why you reached for it, and what it cost the thing you were doing. Learn more →

How fast can I capture a thought?

One tap, then type. The input opens in place with the keyboard ready; there's no separate add screen. While you type, a small bar above the keyboard lets you set a Space or a future day without leaving the line. Tap anywhere to save. A half-typed thought is never lost.

What are Spaces?

Optional contexts for your to-dos: Work, Learning, Home, whatever fits your life. Assign a line to a Space to keep things separate, or filter Today down to one Space when you want a narrower view. You can also ignore them entirely.

Can I schedule to-dos for future days?

Yes. In Calendar, write a line on any future day and it appears on Today when that day arrives. A to-do without a date waits in Unscheduled until you give it one. Planning ahead never clutters today.

Can Calibrate remember when I last did something?

Yes. Keeping track is a last-done log for things with no schedule: the water filter, the mattress, the backups. Each entry shows when you last did it and your real rhythm, like “roughly every 3½ months”. One tap marks it done today. Nothing ever turns red or overdue. Learn more →

Does Calibrate track habits?

Optionally. Habits are opt-in, and Today stays clean without them. Each day is marked done, partial, or skipped. Partial effort counts, missed days can be marked late, and there's no streak to break. Learn more →

Can I use Calibrate from my Lock Screen?

Yes. A running focus session lives on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as a Live Activity. You can reflect, mark what pulled you, take a break, or end the session without unlocking your phone.

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone. Your intentions, sessions, and reflections live in a local database on your device. There's no account, and your writing never leaves your device.

How much does Calibrate cost?

Free for 14 days with everything open. After that it's $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year for the full experience, and your to-dos, journal, and history stay free forever. See pricing ↑
